Terms & Conditions

1. CONTRACTS & DEPOSIT: A signed terms sheet, estimate/work order, and a 50% deposit are required before we will begin production.
2. TEMPLATE &/OR INSTALL: Our pricing includes template, fabrication, and installation. The estimate is based on cabinet drawings or rough sketches. Final price will be determined by the field measurement.
3. CONDITION OF CABINETS: To maintain warranty, cabinetry must be completely level. If cabinetry is not level, Sinai Marble & Granite will shim the countertop at our discretion. However, Sinai Marble & Granite will not provide or install moldings to cover any large gaps between the top and the cabinets.Cabinets, trim, end panels, etc. must be permanently set prior to templating.
4. SINKS AND APPLIANCES: Sinks, sink accessories (such as colanders that fit on the sink lip or flange), cooktops, downdrafts, and appliances must be at the job site at the time of templating to ensure a proper fit. If sinks or appliances are not available at the time of templating, any cutouts made using the customer’s dimensions and locations must be made in writing and are the sole responsibility of the customer. We construct our counters to overhang the interior edge of undermount sinks. This adds strength and makes for a more hygienic application. A special order in writing is necessary to deviate from this standard procedure.
5. REMOVAL OF OLD TOPS & BACKSPLASH: The standard granite and quartz surface backsplash is 4". If you elect non standard (i.e., less than 4") or no backsplash, repainting after the new tops have been installed can take care of the difference.
6. ADDITIONAL TRIPS TO YOUR HOME: If a second trip is required to complete your template, a $150 re-templating fee may be charged. Any other return trips to the job site made through no fault of Sinai Marble & Granite (e.g. hole drilling, cutouts, backsplashes, dishwasher mounting, extra tops, etc.) will be invoiced at a charge of $65 per hour plus material and travel time.
7. PLUMBING/GAS/OTHER: Sinai Marble & Granite does not disconnect or reconnect plumbing, electrical, gas lines, etc. Sinai Marble & Granite does not mount any appliances, nor perform and preparatory service for countertops or wall material. Sinai Marble & Granite will, for an additional cost remove existing countertops. Note: Plumber should be scheduled for connection the day after countertop installation.
8. INSTALLATION &/OR TOP REMOVAL: Sinai Marble & Granite is not responsible for any necessary damage due to installation of countertops (i.e., tile, wallpaper, drywall, paint, cabinets, nicked appliances, floors, or trim). We will take great care to be as gentle as possible, but stone is extremely heavy and consequently installation may cause slight damage, especially in hard to fit areas.
9. CLEANUP: Installation of countertops is a construction process and residual dust should be expected. You may want to drape or cover areas to contain the dust. The job site will be left in broom-clean condition.
10. SITTING/STANDING ON COUNTERTOPS: Damage, including irreparable damage can occur if anyone is allowed to sit or stand on countertops. NEVER allow anyone of any size or weight to sit or stand on your countertops. This can separate the seams or crack counters. Damage resulting from someone sitting/standing on the counters voids the warranty.
11. POST-TEMPLATE WORK ORDER CHANGES: All changes to work orders after template must be in writing and signed by the customer or authorized representative. Any and all changes will be subject to a re-template fee and could delay your scheduled installation date. The manufacturing process can begin within minutes after the template is complete and therefore change orders sometimes cannot be accommodated whatsoever.
12. SEAMS: Natural Stone seams may be visible to the eye and can be felt. Our seams conform to the Marble Institute of America’s guidelines to be within 1/16th of an inch. Customer understands that natural stone is a product of nature. It may contain small cracks, deposits, color variations, veins, and thickness differences. It is possible to scratch, stain, break, and crack. Seams could contain waves, thickness differences, and gap and color difference from the stone. Profiled edges could contain small scratches, waves, and gloss differences. Placement of seams, reveal at backsplash ends, and figuring (veining, color inconsistencies, etc.) is at the discretion of Sinai Marble & Granite. Input from the customer is welcome and Sinai Marble & Granite will attempt to accommodate the customer’s wishes where possible.
13. SELECTING STONE SLABS: Customers are strongly encouraged to inspect and select slabs for natural stone. Sample pieces are not representative of the actual slabs in all cases. Customer will be required to sign a waiver if they don’t select their slab.
14. OVERHANGS: Counter overhangs will vary with cabinets and design. Sinai Marble & Granite will not be responsible for support at extended overhangs beyond 10". Please plan on installing brackets or supports at least every 36" immediately after countertop installation.
15. IMPROPER DESIGN: Sinai Marble & Granite is not a kitchen design company, and Sinai Marble & Granite will not be responsible for improper design or layout. Common issues arise with fitting specific sinks in vanities and fitting cooktops with separate downdrafts into standard cabinets. Informing Sinai Marble & Granite of the actual appliance description, faucets, and sinks that you intend on using at the earliest time in the process will help prevent these situations.
16. FLOOR CHARGES: Installations above the ground floor level may be subject to a "floor charge." Where necessary, a customer may have to hire and coordinate a crane or forklift to hoist countertops to upper level installs. Size of elevator or stairwell may affect sizes of pieces that can be installed &/or seams. Final decisions on these issues can only be determined at the time of template.
17. PAYMENT COLLECTION: Balances are due and payable upon delivery. Amounts unpaid after 30 days will be submitted to a collections agency and the customer will be responsible for all incurred costs. Your timely payment is appreciated.
18. WARRANTY RESTRICTION: Your product warranty will not be in effect until full payment is received.
19. JURISDICTION: This agreement shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of MD. The undersigned consents to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of the State of MD, and waives the right to a trial by jury.
20. THE RESPONSIBLE PARTY MUST BE ON SITE AT TEMPLATE AND DURING INSTALLATION.
